About Me

There Is Never an Excuse to ignore High Blood Pressure

I used to thinkt that people in good health just had "healthy genes" and that daily habits didn't affect health very much. Due to that belief, when my doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure and prescribed a medication to treat it, I didn't take it at first. I soon got a health "wake up call" when I began experiencing chest pains. My wife took me to the ER and, thankfully, they determined I wasn't having a heart attack, like I thought I was. The next day, I began taking my medication and living a healthier lifestyle. Soon, I was able to stop the medication due to my lifestyle changes, but I still monitor my blood pressure at home just to "stay on the safe side." I wanted to share my story to help others and plan to post many more health tips on my new blog.

What Can COVID-19 Testing Services Help You Do?

COVID-19 has largely become manageable through vaccines, masking, social distancing, and other public and personal health protocols. However, it's impossible to completely erase your risk of contracting this disease. That's why COVID-19 testing services can help you determine whether or not you've become infected with this virus. Testing services use highly accurate antigen tests to determine whether or not COVID-19 is present in someone's system. Rapid tests deliver results in just a few minutes, so you'll never have to wait for important news about your health. Here are some things that a COVID-19 testing service can help you do:

1. Discover asymptomatic infections.

COVID-19 produces telltale symptoms in many people, such as sore throats, fevers, and coughs. However, some people contract the COVID-19 virus and remain completely asymptomatic. Asymptomatic people can still spread COVID-19 to others, which is why it's important to know your health status. A COVID-19 testing service can let you know if you are positive for COVID-19, even without symptoms.

2. Return to work.

People who contract COVID-19 are recommended to stay home from work until the period during which they are contagious passes. If you've been quarantined due to a COVID-19 infection, a COVID-19 test can help you decide whether or not you're ready to return to work. Additionally, some employers require a negative COVID test before they allow workers to return to the office, which a testing facility can provide.

3. Prepare to travel.

COVID-19 testing services can also help you prepare for travel. Some destinations require that travelers provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and negative COVID-19 tests before disembarking their flights. There is often a window of time during which the test should have been administered, usually a few days before travel. COVID-19 testing facilities allow travelers to schedule their tests in advance so they will be valid at the time of their trips. Many testing facilities are also able to help walk-in clients on short notice, even without an appointment.

4. Gain peace of mind.

Finally, COVID-19 testing services can give you peace of mind. If you're worried that you may have developed COVID-19 due to worrying symptoms or exposure to someone with this illness, taking a test can put your mind at ease. Professional testing services offer COVID-19 tests that are more accurate than versions available at home. They can also benefit people who do not have access to home varieties of COVID-19 antigen tests.
