About Me

There Is Never an Excuse to ignore High Blood Pressure

I used to thinkt that people in good health just had "healthy genes" and that daily habits didn't affect health very much. Due to that belief, when my doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure and prescribed a medication to treat it, I didn't take it at first. I soon got a health "wake up call" when I began experiencing chest pains. My wife took me to the ER and, thankfully, they determined I wasn't having a heart attack, like I thought I was. The next day, I began taking my medication and living a healthier lifestyle. Soon, I was able to stop the medication due to my lifestyle changes, but I still monitor my blood pressure at home just to "stay on the safe side." I wanted to share my story to help others and plan to post many more health tips on my new blog.

Workplace CPR Training Courses: Why Every Company Should Invest in Them

Injuries and medical emergencies can happen unexpectedly and can occur in any workplace. Having a trained staff member who can promptly provide cardiovascular resuscitation (CPR) can make a huge difference in saving someone’s life. Workplace CPR training courses provide essential skills that could come in handy in case of a sudden cardiac arrest or other medical emergencies. In this blog post, we will discuss some of the benefits of investing in workplace CPR training courses.

1. It Saves Lives

The primary advantage of investing in a workplace CPR training course is that it saves lives. The faster the CPR is administered, the better the chance of survival. A large percentage of people who suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest do not survive. However, the survival rate can increase dramatically with quick CPR intervention. Having an employee who is trained in CPR can often mean the difference between life and death.

2. Complies With Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations

OSHA requires employers to provide a safe workplace, which includes minimizing the risk of accidents and injuries. One way of ensuring this is through staff training on first-aid, CPR, and blood-borne pathogens. Failing to comply with OSHA regulations can lead to heavy penalties and legal issues. Consequently, investing in a CPR course can help keep employees safe and prevent your company from facing legal implications.

3. Creates a Safer Workplace Culture

When employees have the skills to perform CPR in an emergency, they become empowered to take action in case of an emergency, creating a safer workplace. Everyone becomes more aware of the potential risks and takes the necessary steps to mitigate them before an accident or an incident occurs. Additionally, providing workplace CPR training demonstrates that the company cares about its employees' well-being and safety, which fosters a positive workplace culture.

4. Boost Employee Morale

Training helps employees feel more involved and appreciated, which leads to higher job satisfaction and productivity. CPR certification can provide employees with a sense of purpose, often leading to a more positive and motivated work environment. It's not just having the tools but giving your employees a chance to develop new skills that can take them out of their regular day-to-day activities and make them feel valued and important.

5. Cost-Effective

Workplace CPR training courses are cost-effective because they don't have to be taken too often. Many CPR courses are available online, making it easy to integrate them into employees' schedules. Costs for CPR training courses vary, but when weighed against the value of a human life, it’s a small price to pay. Furthermore, a trained employee can perform CPR at any location, should an emergency occur at the office or outside the workplace.
