About Me

There Is Never an Excuse to ignore High Blood Pressure

I used to thinkt that people in good health just had "healthy genes" and that daily habits didn't affect health very much. Due to that belief, when my doctor diagnosed me with high blood pressure and prescribed a medication to treat it, I didn't take it at first. I soon got a health "wake up call" when I began experiencing chest pains. My wife took me to the ER and, thankfully, they determined I wasn't having a heart attack, like I thought I was. The next day, I began taking my medication and living a healthier lifestyle. Soon, I was able to stop the medication due to my lifestyle changes, but I still monitor my blood pressure at home just to "stay on the safe side." I wanted to share my story to help others and plan to post many more health tips on my new blog.

Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall, Which Plastic Surgeon Should You Call? 5 Ways To Know You've Found The Very Best One For You

The decision to have plastic surgery is a big one, but it also opens the door to a host of other decisions you'll need to make, too. The first and most important choice is which surgeon is right for you and the specific procedure you're having. Here's how to know you've found the best one for you.

They Have Extensive Experience With Your Particular Surgery

From Rhinoplasty to Otoplasty to Abdominoplasty and everything in between, plastic surgeons are most often specialists; thus, you need to find one who not only specializes in your particular procedure but who has a lot of experience performing it, too. Ask at the front desk or on the phone, but don't skip these important questions, just because there are amazing before and after photos adorning the walls: you need concrete answers to vital questions.

Their Facility Is Top-Notch

While you're not undergoing brain or heart surgery, you're still going under the knife, and, therefore, want to make sure the facilities are accredited and well-equipped, including having life-saving procedures and tools immediately available, just in case.

All Personnel Are Highly Qualified

Anesthesia actually initiates memory receptors in your brain, preventing it from recording the events that occur while you're "under". This is a serious state for your brain and body, meaning the anesthesiologist needs to be a highly qualified, licensed medical professional. Ask about their education, which should include over a decade of intensive training.

Of course, you want your plastic surgeon to be equally as qualified, including being up-to-date on all licenses, including those required for their physical practice to remain open. Investigate the people, interviewing each, if necessary, to determine that you'll be in the best hands possible, whether you're getting a tummy tuck or a full face-lift.

You Like How They Make You Feel

Beyond the medical degrees, licenses, and years of dedicated experience, you want to feel like an important client, not a customer waiting in line at the local grocery store. Do you get goosebumps after visiting the surgeon's office? Are you excited about their level of expertise and how much they can help you? Do you receive individualized attention and service? You should also feel very comfortable in the presence of all people employed by the surgeon, including the receptionist at the front door.

They Pay Attention To Every Detail

From explaining your bill to explaining recovery, a good plastic surgery practice will cover every aspect of your experience in great detail. You won't be brushed off when asking a question, no matter how busy they are or how near they are to closing for the day. From the accommodations in the waiting area to the attitudes of their employees to the bedside manner of the doctor, everything should be geared toward your creating a fantastic experience for you.

Not only should you be pleased with the results of your plastic surgery, but you should also be satisfied with the anesthesiologist, the conditions of the facility, the billing process, and so forth. Don't just settle on someone's appealing before and after photos, because you have a lot more at stake than just a prettier nose, fuller lips, or perkier breasts.
